About Me

My journey into software development started in the early 2000s when I borrowed a JavaScript book from my stepdad and began experimenting with HTML, simple scripts, and basic web pages. That curiosity quickly turned into a passion for building and problem solving. In high school, I enrolled in AP Computer Science, where I was introduced to Java and object-oriented programming; an experience that solidified my desire to become a developer.

Since then, I have continued expanding my skills through both formal education and firsthand development experience. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering at Western Governors University, where I have completed my coursework in web design and development and continue sharpening my skills in modern application development.

Professionally, I was given a fantastic opportunity by being promoted into an E-commerce Specialist role because of my web development knowledge and ability to create database reporting solutions. In that role, I developed reusable contest-entry widgets for multiple stores and built a custom web application that converted CSV files of garden supply pickups into cashier-ready PDF sheets complete with product images, descriptions, and barcodes.

One of my most impactful projects was developing a full contract management system for a school district food services department. The platform manages ordering, inventory tracking, delivery manifests, client receipts, and monthly billing for inter-district sales operations. The system remains actively used today, demonstrating the reliability and long-term value of the solutions I build.

Outside of formal work experience, I am heavily focused on self-driven learning. I have taught myself technologies including React, React Native, Next.js, Java Spring Boot, and Python Flask by combining documentation, tutorials, and practical application development. I enjoy learning new frameworks, improving my development practices, and building clean, scalable applications that deliver seamless experiences across web, iOS, and Android platforms. Beyond programming, I am passionate about gaming, fitness, bodybuilding, and crafting. Gaming has strengthened my problem-solving skills and persistence, while fitness has reinforced the importance of discipline and continuous improvement. Crafting and creative hobbies reflect my mindset as a developer; always exploring new techniques, tools, and ways to build better solutions.

My current goal is to officially establish myself within the software development industry while completing my degree. Long term, I aim to gain enterprise and cloud development experience before eventually building my own software company focused on customizable business solutions for a variety of industries.

I am driven by the idea that great software should solve real problems, improve workflows, and successfully work for the people who use it.
